reason for living

Do you have a question that wasn't answered?  Was there something in an article that wasn't clear?  Do you have some comments to make about the web site or its contents?

You can send e-mail to reason for living and the link is at the bottom of this page, but please read the following first.

  1. Keep it sweet, or at least polite.  You can object, criticise, fume, even express disgust and anger if you want, but if you use bad language or if you are merely witlessly and humourlessly rude you'll just get ignored.  If you are rude in an intelligent and amusing way you'll probably still be ignored but we will appreciate the humour.
  2. A reply from reason4living is not like the second coming of Christ.  The second coming of Jesus Christ is something that you can realistically expect to happen — though possibly not within your lifetime — whereas a reply from reason4living is altogether less certain; you might get a reply but you might not.  reason4living is always very busy and even if you do get a reply it might be a long time before it arrives.
  3. If you don't get a reply when you expected, please use it as an opportunity to practise patience and forgiveness and please don't get offended.  Don't take it personally.
  4. If you are one of the many people who came visiting reason4living because you were feeling suicidal please don't expect to be given a reason for living.  We might not see your email for days and by then you might have got really depressed about us not replying and gone and done something silly.  Its your life so do whatever you want, but our sincere and friendly advice (based on previous experience) is that you should stay alive.  Tell yourself that today isn't a good day for dying (really, it isn't, you can trust me on that), give yourself another day to live and then do the same tomorrow.  In order to receive some emotional support or practical help you'd be better contacting somebody with the time and resources to be helpful to you.  There are lots of friendly people who can and will help so don't be too ashamed or too proud to ask ... the only people who claim to need nobody are most likely fools or liars or already dead or all of those things, and you don't want to be like them.  There is some information and some links on this page.

With the above in mind, we look forward to hearing from you.
